Waste Local Plan for Gloucestershire Consultation
We want to know what you think about waste management in Gloucestershire.
What is the Waste Local Plan?
Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for producing, monitoring and reviewing the county’s Waste Local Plan. This document outlines the principles for the future management of waste, provides the criteria under which we consider waste development applications and allocates land for these uses.
Details of the current Gloucestershire Waste Core Strategy are set out on the main Gloucestershire website, or on the Documents area of this webpage.
The new Waste Local Plan
We are starting the process of creating a new Waste Local Plan to replace the Waste Core Strategy.
The new Waste Local Plan will set out a comprehensive land-use strategy for managing Gloucestershire’s waste. This includes outlining locations, design, sizes and layouts of new waste development.
The Waste Local Plan will consider all types of waste present in Gloucestershire householder, commercial, construction and demolition, waste water, and waste requiring special treatment. The aim is to focus on how waste can be reduced, and where it is unavoidable, how more of it can be turned into a valuable resource without polluting our environment.
What can you do?
