I wrote to you recently to let you know that we are reviewing our foster carer payment scheme. The purpose of the review is to check if the current scheme remains fair and reflects the work that we do and the needs of the children in care in Gloucestershire.
Please be assured this is not a cost-saving exercise. Any changes to the system will be based on feedback from you – our valued foster carers – as well as market research, national payment reviews, and engagement with fostering staff.
The deadline for submitting your answers to the survey is 6th November 2024. We hope to have a final proposal to be shared with senior managers at the end of year, dependant on the success and timeliness of gathering our research and feedback.
As I said in my email to you all, it is so important to me and to the fostering service that you engage with us during this review and take a few moments to complete the payment survey so that your voice can be heard. There are 15 questions, some of which are simple yes/no answers. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact your supervising social worker or Karen Etheridge. karen.etheridge@gloucestershire.gov.uk
Best wishes

There are 15 core questions in this survey, and a small number of supplementary questions. Please answer each question as honestly as you can, and with reference to your current experience of fostering with GCC. Thank you!
