On March 18, 2024, we were notified by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) of their intention to assess Gloucestershire County Council Adult Social Care Services. We had to send them detailed information by April 9, 2024. This request is part of the initial steps in a new inspection process for local adult social care services, established by the Health and Care Act of 2022.

Before visiting us, the CQC will survey all service providers in Gloucestershire and talk to important local groups. The feedback they gather will help decide what to focus on during their visit. We expect the CQC to visit our site sometime from mid-May to October 2024, and they will give us six weeks in advance of any onsite visit.

An important part of getting ready for the CQC’s visit is our self-assessment. It’s our chance to show the CQC and everyone else how well we understand our strengths and where we need to get better. We already had a peer review in September by the Local Government Association, which agreed with our self-assessment and gave us advice that we’re using to improve.

For more details on our self-assessment and preparations for the CQC inspection, you can visit https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/cqc-assessment-of-gloucestershire-adult-social-care/

We value your input on our CQC preparation efforts. Could you spare a moment to answer a brief survey? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
