Who is paying for the scheme?

Funding for the route from Cheltenham to Bishop’s Cleeve would total over £12 million and comes from Department for Transport Active Travel Funding, Section 106 contributions, and the council’s capital programme.

When will the work start and finish?

Currently, we expect to start the Honeybourne Line cycleway to Cheltenham Racecourse Roundabout section in autumn/winter 2023.

    What does the scheme involve?

    • Installation of new and improved segregated cycleway and footway along the A435 Evesham Road.
    • Cyclist and pedestrian improvements at and adjacent to junctions and roundabouts, including new and improved crossing points.
    • Improved on-road routes for cyclists through residential roads.
    • Embankment stabilisation works around the GWSR railway bridge.
