1. Introduction

At Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) we are determined to achieve the best outcomes for our looked after children and care leavers and are looking to develop new partnerships with providers to achieve this. This short survey is designed to help us to understand the market and to identify opportunities to offer a better choice of local placements in Gloucestershire. It will help us to understand what is already available and what could be developed in future with partners who share our vision.

We are refreshing our Sufficiency Strategy. The emphasis is on securing the right placement first time, achieving greater consistency of care, reducing breakdowns and further trauma, and providing high quality support for young people moving into adulthood. The County Council has taken practical steps to deliver this agenda, such as the development of Trevone House as a semi-independent accommodation and support service for vulnerable young people. Further developments are planned including further work with our service providers to develop a comprehensive range of resources aimed at ensuring that the first longer-term placement, where needed, is the right one for each child or young person.

We will follow up the survey with meetings and workshops to explore promising opportunities. By sharing your contact details at the end of the questionnaire, we will assume you agree to be invited to workshops and events organised by Gloucestershire County Council to further explore local sufficiency and development.

Data protection and confidentiality

Your consent to take part in the survey will be assumed from you starting the questionnaire.

We recognise that some of the information could be commercially sensitive, so any report we produce from the survey will not identify individual providers or their information. The information you share with us will be downloaded to IPC owned / managed laptops and stored safely for the duration of the project, and destroyed six months after it has finished. For more information, please read our privacy policy: https://ipc.brookes.ac.uk/privacy-policy SmartSurvey's privacy policy is available here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/privacy-policy.

We would be very grateful if you could complete this survey on behalf of your provider organisation. If you have any questions or technical difficulties, or would like to preview the questions, please contact Agnes Turnpenny at aturnpenny@brookes.ac.uk.

The survey takes 5-25 minutes to complete depending on the type of services you provide.

Thank you for your time!
