About Minor Adaptations

Minor adaptations are small works or aids such as grab rails, ceiling track hoists and modular ramping which can help you to remain independent and safe in your home for as long as possible.

What the service is expected to provide

  • Install and maintain a wide range of Minor adaptations to support a variety of needs from frailty, mobility, dementia, learning and physical disability, neurodivergent and mental health.
  • Support safe hospital discharge for individuals.
  • Support individuals’ independence with a person centred and strengths-based approach which enables them to stay at home for as long as is safe.
  • Offer timely support to individuals at the end of their life and those with life limiting conditions.

What we want to know

Minor adaptations is a statutory service that local authorities must deliver under the Care Act 2014. The current contract is coming to an end in August 2024, and we want to commission a new service that supports the changing needs of individuals within Gloucestershire.
