Dear County Councillor,
We would like to discuss your new grit bin requirements. Please complete the form below as soon as possible to help us prepare for winter.
You could opt to replace an existing bin, relocate a bin to a better location or install a new bin. Please speak to your Local Highways Manager to agree your requirements. For guidance on where we will install new grit bins see page 40 of the Adverse Weather Plan document in the right-hand menu.
If you choose a location that does not meet our policy requirements, we are happy to discuss other options which the community could assist with. In these cases we would not restock at the start of the season but can provide the community with bagged salt to fill via community self help.
It is essential we keep our asset registers up to date with locations of grit bins as these are used to restock at the start of the season and monitor usage. Your Local Highways Manager can share the asset data we currently hold for your areas if you wish to review.
