Gloucestershire Local Transport Plan

Welcome

Gloucestershire County Council is preparing an updated Local Transport Plan (LTP). This Plan will guide how transport is planned, managed and improved across the county over the next 15 years and beyond.

Transport plays a vital role in everyday life. It helps people access employment, education, healthcare, shops and essential services, visit friends and family, and support local businesses and economic growth.

Earlier this year, we carried out initial engagement and asked people across Gloucestershire to tell us about their experiences of the transport network, the challenges they face and their priorities for the future. That feedback has helped us identify main themes and further develop the Updated Draft LTP.

We have included a ‘You said, we listened’ summary here where you can find out how feedback to date has been taken onboard.

What’s happening now?

We are now at the formal consultation stage for the Updated Draft LTP.

This consultation gives you another chance to help shape the Plan before it is finalised and considered for adoption. We want to know whether the Plan reflects the right priorities for Gloucestershire and whether our proposed approach will help address the transport issues that matter most to you.

The consultation is open from Thursday 1 October to Sunday 15 November 2026.

You can read the full Draft Plan here or view a printed copy at selected libraries across Gloucestershire.

We are also hosting two online events where you can find out more about the LTP, how earlier feedback has shaped it and ask questions. If you would like to join, please email ltp@gloucestershire.gov.uk and a link will be sent to you:
