The purpose of this Practice Evaluation Tool (v6) is to provide an insight into the quality of our practice as an aid to continuous improvement. It provides a mechanism for identifying and disseminating good practice, learning from and improving our practice, and tackling situations in which drift and delay or weaker practice is leaving children in situations of actual or potential risk.
To support the accuracy of the audit and the opportunity for learning and improvement, the audit is undertaken with the worker.
Gradings:
Our expectation is that managers and social workers will usually audit their own work, with moderation undertaken by a practitioner with no direct involvement in the case. Audits will be graded using the Ofsted ILACs descriptors as follows:
