Response Review Consultation

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) and Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) are committed to providing the best services to our communities throughout the county.

To ensure we are delivering an effective and efficient service we are constantly reviewing our response to risk through our Community Risk Management Plan.

As part of this plan we take a risk based approach and regularly review modelling and data to evaluate the service we provide.

We want to:

  • Improve the ability to have the right people, in the right place to respond to emergencies in our communities
  • Improve our community prevention and protection activities across the county
  • Ensure the health and safety of our firefighters

We are seeking your views on proposed changes to GFRS including:

  • Increase of 14 firefighters with the introduction of a new day shift station at Cinderford
  • Review and change wholetime firefighter shift patterns from 9 hour day and 15 hour night shifts to 12 hour day and night shifts
