The Gloucestershire Health and Wellbeing Board is responsible for producing the local Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) every three years. The PNA is a statutory document which describes pharmacy provision in Gloucestershire and identifies any gaps in provision of services. Service developments which will be needed to secure future improvements or meet future needs are also described.
The PNA is used by commissioners to make decisions regarding the need for additional premises or services and improvements in, or better access to, existing services. Such needs could either be current or those likely to arise within the lifetime of the PNA (2022/23 to 2024/25).
The last PNA was published in 2018, with last year’s planned PNA delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A new PNA is due to be published by 1 October 2022. A Draft Gloucestershire Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2022-2025 has been published and is out for public consultation.
Stakeholders are requested to review and comment on the draft PNA before it is finalised and published. You can access the draft PNA document and accompanying maps here.
The consultation is open until 5pm on Sunday the 3 July 2022.
We look forward to receiving your feedback, thank you.
